2020-2021 Administration Welcome Letter

Welcome to 2020-21!

Welcome to Eisenhower Elementary School’s 2020-2021 school year.  This letter has been prepared with GREAT excitement as it signifies the start of our school year after being away from our students since March! Careful planning has gone into bringing our students back into our building on August 24, 2020.  As we at EES prepare for the new school year, we have worked with district leadership to gather feedback and identify protocols surrounding the safety, educational, social, and the emotional needs of our students and families.

Our first day of school will be Monday, August 24, 2020. What is new or on the horizon for the EES learning community? For 20-21 our school day will start a little earlier. EES will begin breakfast at 8:30 AM and end at 8:45 AM. The instructional day will begin at 8:45 AM. Time is limited for breakfast, so please have your child at EES by 8:30 AM. School ends at 3:35 PM. EES also offers extended day services before and after school.

Spring of 2020 challenged staff and students to find a new normal for learning, connected us in new ways and required our EES Generals to think outside the box.  What I have most learned through this process is how much I appreciate the expertise our teachers bring to EES, the ways in which our students continue to work hard to grow and overall, appreciation for the little things in life - giving a high five, a hug or being able to laugh out loud with many people around. What I MOST appreciate about EES is how even under circumstances we have never experienced, we are still a learning and caring community.

Normal is such a simple word and it is our goal at EES to not only find our new normal, but to use this time as a learning experience that will forever impact the learning environment of EES.  Every week there are new types of learning experiences teachers are directing and much of what is learned will continue to be used in the future. Our beginning of year may not be “normal,” but our learning will not only continue, but it will thrive.  We can’t wait to move on to the next phase of learning with all returning and new students to EES. They will be welcomed with open arms (from 6 feet away) to our EES school community - we will continue to grow!

The EES website continues to evolve, but will be a place to go to pull static information, facts about EES that could be important for a family at any point of the year.  Another way to receive current information related to the EES community is to check out our

Our EES staff and LPS district level staff prides itself in ensuring that our students have as many, if not more, educational opportunities as possible. We are committed to maintaining the highest standards so that there will be no shortage of opportunities for your student to feel challenged on a daily basis with high quality instruction. These are exceptional times right now.  Please know that EES staff is committed to providing strong rigorous and relevant learning experience for your child that is safe and supports their social and emotional growth.
